Old County Rd between Ralston Ave and Brittan Ave: remove all street parking and install buffered bike lanes all the way through this important north-south bike corridor. Bike lanes need to be wide enough or buffers open for faster bikes to pass. Install modal filters to direct motor vehicles going north/south onto El Camino.

This intersection needs to give better priority to pedestrians and cyclists such that they can access Caltrain without needing to wait several minutes to cross El Camino. To do so, eliminate westbound motor vehicle traffic on San Carlos Avenue between El Camino and Laurel, eliminate the left turn lane and its signal on El Camino, and give priority timing to the pedestrian lights. Pedestrians should never have to wait more than 30 seconds to cross this intersection.

Close this section of San Carlos Ave to motor vehicle traffic going westbound. Direct one-way traffic to El Camino onto one side of the median, and divide the other side into a two-way bike street plus additional space for pedestrians and outdoor restaurant seating. Westbound motor vehicles can be diverted using Holly St. Consider making Holly St west of El Camino a one-way street going west only.

Redwood City has committed willful reckless endangerment against cyclists with their design of speed humps going across the bike lanes. The humps in the bike lanes must be removed and there need to be barriers between the motor vehicle speed humps and the bike lanes to prevent motor vehicles from driving into the bike lanes.

Drivers keep swerving into the bike lanes. This road is wide enough to build protected bike lanes, it just needs to have on-street parking removed. In the mean time, we need zero-tolerance enforcement against motor vehicles entering bike lanes and against drivers doing things on their phone screens.

protected bike lane would be very nice. I don't feel safe riding bike in this section

All schools need to close their drive-through drop-off circles. These driveways are a huge waste of precious space that could be used to build better school yards or maybe housing for teachers, and it creates traffic congestion and puts students who walk or bike to school in danger.

There is absolutely no reason to wait for the Belmont traffic circle project, which is not going to improve anything anyway. We need bike lanes here in San Carlos in this section of San Carlos Avenue right now. We cannot sacrifice the safety of students biking to school to the convenience of residents who want to park their 5th car on the street.

This is the only school route to Mariposa/TL/Carlmont, and its dangerous condition prevents hundreds of students from riding their bikes to school every day. We need a quick-build project here that removes all on-street parking and installs protected or buffered bike lanes on both sides of San Carlos Ave. Look at N Sunnyvale Ave in Sunnyvale as a good example.

Westbound bike lane is too narrow. Half of the bike lane is the gutter, it is not safe to ride in the gutter and close to the curb. On Fridays, residents put their trash and recycling bins into the bike lane, forcing bikes to swerve in and out of motor vehicle traffic. This is an abject failure of the City given that this is one of the main school routes.

This should be a paved path giving access to the 1 sidewalk. Currently dirty and dark - unsafe.

I would not use the Hwy One underpass near the Pilarcitos

Creek because of the creek-dwellers that linger there.
CalTrabs needs to keep that area safe, and cleared of the
Bike-parts and other debris, they carty down there. -
No bike lane on the 1 between Kelly and 92, meaning no access to Strawflower and New Leaf shops for the big population south of 92. Pedestrians and bicycles are frequently walking on the hard shoulder, very dangerous. (The so-called alternative via Pilarcitos ave is also dangerous, inconvenient, and requires bikes to be pushed in certain parts.)

Large cracks in the asphalt on this section of old county make it very difficult to ride on a bicycle. Old county/Pacific Blvd are an invaluable route for north south travel for cyclists, giving a low traffic alternative to El Camino with fewer interactions and lights. Repaving this street or adding a bike lane would make travel from redwood city all the way to Burlingame (via California Ave) much safer and more accessible.

Bicycles are dangerous.they speed, pass cars causing potentially fatal situations
, follow no rules for driving on the road and say it’s not their fault because they are a little bicycle. I was passed at a stop sign when I stopped with an oncoming car. My daughter was run off the side of the road breaking her wheel, avoiding an oncoming car a bicycle was passing. At a huge expense. And neither bicycle ever stopped to see what they caused. Running stop signs and passing in small spaces seems to be the cyclists right. They need to be ticketed for dangerous drivingLiked 2 times

Too many testosterone-fueled cyclists with self-centered attitudes need to be ticketed!

All traffic bottlenecks at the Lemos Farm / Landfill turnoffs and the risky / illegal left turns people make over the double yellows out of these generate most of the accidents on 92. I would favor continuing the downhill cement median even further. Or consider adding a roundabout or signal here.

All the curves in 92 need new right shoulder striping. It’s dangerous at night & impossible in the rain at night to visually find the edge of the road. What about using an irradescent in the paint as well?

There have been 4 accidents here. This intersection needs stop signs on all corners. This is a main corridor for children to walk to and from school. With parking on all 4 corners, someone crossing the street has to go to the center of the street to see on-coming traffic. The hazard is both for pedestrians and drivers alike.
