Seems like a missed opportunity to create some protected, and safe biking infrastructure on Islington. It's been a massive project and it's not safe (IMO) to bike on Islington - unless you bike on the sidewalk. A protected bike lane (fully separated) on Islington would have been a game changer and enabled a great corridor to downtown.
I take State to get from the West End to downtown, but State also has 2 way traffic, no protected bike path, and tons of parked cars on both sides of the road.Liked 4 times

Sidewalks on Ocean Road would allow me to walk down to the bike trail. Sidewalks would also allow us to just take our dog for a walk down the street and meet some of our neighbors along the way. Living at the top of Ocean Rd means we are a bit far from the Portsmouth community. Sidewalks would would make us feel more included.

A favorite bike ride on the weekend - but it's not separated and State Street is concerning on a bike. Of course, getting to Prescott Park on a bike is excellent - and then it is a beautiful ride to Newcastle - however, the bridge and causeway to Newcastle is dangerous on a bike - feels like this should be a natural biking area - it's beautiful and passes through some great areas.

I agree with the main comment. But the drivers are often impatient and overtake when its not safe to do so (limited visibility of curves and hills/bridges)

The greenery along this section of the sidewalk has grown out so that the entire sidewalk is not walkable. Branches extended out and overhead, making it impossible to safely walk down the sidewalk pushing a stroller. It is also not safe to step off the sidewalk because cars whip around the corner going way too fast and the greenery makes it so that the corner is a blind corner (when taking a right from Middle Rd.). Please cut back the bushes along this short section of sidewalk!

I bike on Court when I bike from Prescott Park back to my office on State Street. It's not ideal, but low traffic and seems like to best option to get from the park back to 600 State Street.

I also bike on Court daily. It was repaved recently but not turned into a "bicycle boulevard" as outlined in the last bike/ped plan. Riders must confidently take the lane to avoid car doors.

Very challenging to bike or walk.

I agree, there is very little shoulder on either side of the road. There are blind curves. And despite the posted speed limit of 25 mph, cars go much too fast on this road.

Again, bikes lanes would be nice or signage to help cyclists get through these busy lights

this would also be a valuable connection to the new rec center and improved rail trail!

Bike lanes in 33 with the speed of traffic are a bad idea. -
The sidewalk here is way too narrow for all of the foot traffic. Pedestrians are squeezed between lamp posts and buildings and there’s not even enough room for two people to walk side by side never mind walking a dog or pushing a stroller. It’s a major injustice that drivers have three travel lanes on Congress Street and yet pedestrians are so crammed together and have to walk into the street to get around each other.

This is a very scary place to cross the street despite the rectangular flashing beacon and crosswalk. Doing so is a leap of faith because you cannot see if vehicles are coming from the direction of Islington Street and drivers cannot see you. On my bike I have almost hit pedestrians crossing there more than once.

There is currently a multiuse path along Cate Hodgdon Brook that should connect to the eventual North Mill Pond MUP. The easiest way for that to happen would be to cut across a tiny sliver of the Eldridge Office Park parking lot, onto Morning Street and then cross Bartlett Street (with the aid of a crosswalk) to the NMP MUP.

Going up Woodbury in the direction of Rite Aid on a bike is fine since there is a fair amount of shoulder. However, going down is horrible since there is virtually no shoulder, there are sewer grates and road debris along the curb, cars go very fast and are impatient to pass because it is a long straight road without obstacles. Maplewood is a better bike alternative even if it takes longer and there is an added hill, at least there is a bike lane, some raised intersections to slow cars down, and less car traffic. The problem is that it is hard to turn left from the right side of Woodbury onto Maplewood. It was much easier to do that when the temporary speed cushions were in place which slowed cars down to a speed that made in comfortable for cyclists to take the lane.

Lamenting there are no bike lanes on the newly reconstructed Islington St? Get with the program. You supposed to enjoy visual appeal of the 3-4 ft wide brick trim instead
