Low visibility of cyclists and pedestrians by cars. Speed bump not enough, a stop sign should go there.

Fully agree! The trolley trail users should have priority here or at minimum it needs to be all way stop. I've seen many close calls in this intersection.

Serious bike hazard on eastbound Edmondson due to traffic calming designed by a moron. At the corner with Wyndcrest Ave the combination of the bumped out curb at the corner and the traffic calming island make it actually impossible for motor vehicles to give 3 feet of clearance when passing. I have been passed by a garbage truck and city buses while trapped in this little slot. Terrifying!

This section of eastbound Edmondson has no sidewalk. Parking should not be allowed between Overbrook Rd and the beginning of the sidewalk near the overbrook apartments. Very dangerous. It is a busy corner and pedestrians are forced into the road when cars park in this stretch.

Crossing Alta Vista at this intersection as a pedestrian or bike is dangerous when using the Bethesda Trolley Trail. Westbound traffic can’t see bikers and walkers coming south. Southbound drivers on Old Georgetown Rd. turning into the neighborhood do not watch for bikers and walkers. It’s scary.

The intersection has a bus stop and the traffic lights are too far away either north or south for pedestrians and cyclists.

Current location of this crosswalk makes little sense (not near the bus stop and to a part of Hamilton street that lacks a sidewalk) and cars never stop -- I don't think they know it's there. People rarely cross here and just run across when there's a break in the traffic.

Not just the school, also the YMCA and the park. Would be excellent to have a safe bike route to the park/playground.

Re-open walking access to the school from within the neighborhood. This used to be a vehicular access to the property but it got closed when the property got converted to a school last year, for cars but also for pedestrians and cyclists. Neighborhood kids have to walk on Rockville Pike, and it's never going to be safe.

100% agree. This is a SAFE and easy access for local maplewood families with elementary age kids walking daily to Rochambeau. This should be re-opened for access to local families who walk, instead of walking on Rockville Pike.
Like Liked 4 timesCannot emphasize enough how this pedestrian access will end up saving a life. It's really urgent and something that neighborhood families have on our minds all the time.

Only school access is problematic. Children pass by foot and bicycle a few feet from cars that speed on the highway, with a dangerous car exit from the school generating cut through traffic, with frequent car collisions over the last few years. Please get the school to provide a safe side access directly from the neighborhood.

This is a heavily trafficked sidewalk between University Park and College Park, but it is narrow and too close to fast moving vehicles. More than once I had trucks and buses pass within inches of my arm.
Not sure how to fit it, but the best would be to add a protected bike lane that would provide both a) a buffer for pedestrians and b) a convenient bike link from College Park to the Riverdale Park Station.
