I worry about my son crossing The Pike at 16th from Grover Beach to Oceano. Maybe it needs a stop sign?

Thompson rd and price street. Crossing guard is desperately needed. Flashing crossing lights are as well. Speed bumps to the south of price street (on Thompson) would slow drivers down and help the entire intersection.

Thompson- people will not stop for students, even when there is a crossing guard standing there.

Teft and Orchard- the light is so bad that a lot of students skip the crossing guard and run-through traffic/between cars across Orchard.

Pomeroy crosswalk at juniper street in Nipomo. The flashing lights do not work and cars routinely drive through the crosswalk at high speeds. I have seen children almost be hit by cars at this crosswalk. It is a very dangerous crossing for kids trying to get from houses on the other side of Pomeroy to the community park which leads to Dana Elementary.

Bike lanes. Shiffrar Place/Division St to Division/S Las Flores Dr to N Las Flores/Camino Del Oro. Shiffrar is very dangerous to cross onto Division, shrubs are blocking vision, narrow, and high speed traffic.

The crosswalks at Tefft and Mallagh, Tefft and Thompson Rd and Tefft and Chestnut St. in Nipomo are poorly marked and cars speed by. I think that a blinking light sign during school hours at the crosswalks or even blinking lights on the crosswalks themselves should be mandatory. I drive that route every school day and see the problem. Someone is going to get hurt if nothing is done

They need to put a cross walk with cross light flashing on price street and another on Thompson! The way people drive so fast and careless it’s scary

ALL of Thompson Ave is extremely dangerous, and I know firsthand from being in a law-enforcement family how many people have actually been hit and killed on the street. There areso many drunk drivers in Nipomo, that they top many other cities surrounding. People drivedrunk at any time of the day.
There are way too many people speeding through the school zone, absolutely no safety precautions taken, and I even recently saw a sheriff’s deputy who was at the stoplight on her phone, while moving her car and driving through the school areaafter having left the school.Liked 0 times -
Thompson needs a pedestrian beacon or cross light

Brisco at Linda. Visible police presence, not a motor cop hiding up the driveway out of sight and out of mind. No more red zones and no enforcement of red zones for parents lined up in running cars. Moving the line into the single traffic lane decreases safety because the intersection can hold without moving for minutes at a time. The non-school drivers will drive on the wrong side of Brisco Road on the backside of the hill in their attempt to get past the Linda Drive stop sign. Long waits create irate drivers that make reckless moves like running the stop sign. (The first time I was almost hit by a car at the intersection was when a motor cop made all of the parents move out of the red zone. Traffic was stopped up for several minutes and a car ran the stop sign nearly hitting a then-three-year-old and myself. Spirit versus letter of the law.) I want the intersection to be known for police presence. Additionally, an oversized flashing stop sign for southbound Brisco Road traffic. Two reasons: (A) Easier to see 24/7 and(B) when parents are lined up on Brisco Road the bigger sign will be visible above waiting vehicles. I have lived on Brisco for 15 years and was the crossing guard for over a year.

Thompson-the newer crosswalk needs the flashing lights and button to push for lighting up the crosswalk. There is heavy traffic at school times and many students walking. Nipomo really needs sidewalks in order for parents to feel safe letting kids walk to/from school.
