Headimg east on Vineyard, stop sign at Bethel is too far to right and easy to miss. Add island or other desigm to improve traffic control.

From North Bound Santa Rita the visibility is seriously impaired to turn West or East on Vineyard. The Southwest corner of that intersection has telephone pole, bushes, fence and utility box that blocks vision to turn safely

Exactly, the sidewalk is on the north side of Vineyard Drive thus there should be a way for people to safely access it rather than walking on the south side of Vineyard where vehicles park regularly.

Something to slow oncoming traffic approaching the school area is needed.

High walking traffic from vineyard to via rojas along this path. Terrible access for strollers, children and elderly to complete the “loop” around the neighborhood. There are also children in the Zinfandel ct neighborhood that cross the Bethel road who should have a better crosswalk/speedbump area to allow
    For safer crossing.

Suggestion to add speed bumps to slow approaching cars and cars gaining speed after the stop sign to allow drivers and pedestrians to travel safely around the Via Rojas turn.

Crosswalk with lights here and at bethel/vineyard could help people slow down and pay attention along here. Kids crossing to get to and home from school.

Not only a light, but there needs to another way in/out of Trader Joe's. Also Rossi/Vineyard & Bennett/Vineyard intersections are a nightmare. It doesn't help that the Bethel/Vineyard intersection trickles cars that are evenly spaced. I purposely avoid scheduling appts when school is in/out. Doesn't it make sense to figure out the road situation before doing any building? Not to mention the water, etc?

Additional development(s) planned for the properties on Bennett (north) will exacerbate the traffic congestion in this area, especially at peak times. A traffic signal at the Bennett/Vineyard intersection should be required as part of this improvement project. Would also allow for safer pedestrian and bicycle traffic across Vineyard at all times during the day.

The Bennet through road to Templeton Hills Road is a plan but is not likely to ease traffic. Having two lights, one at the on ramp and one at Rossi is too close together unless the timing of the lights is perfected.
(.....Remember when the very first light went in at Main and Vineyard)

At this point the shoulder narrows to "0" for the next 300 yards. Widening the road to include a shoulder in this section will increase safety and not have pedestrians and cyclists funneling into the main road.

This is really important. I see students walking to school where there is no sidewalk and it is very concerning. This would also help joggers, dog-walkers, etc. There needs to be a sidewalk all the way to Vineyard Elementary to Main Street (including crosswalks or stoplights to help ensure safety when crossing roads)

Sidewalks and crosswalks are needed to allow pedestrians to walk to Trader Joe's/ Merry Hill/ etc. There is no safe way for pedestrians to walk to Trader Joe's.

Not to mention there is not a single way for students to walk to TMS/THS from streets that are on the south side of Vineyard. There are no crosswalks that cross Vineyard from the south streets (Bennett/Rossi/Santa Rita/etc.). There are no stoplights that allow for pedestrian crossing either. Trying to turn left out of Bennett or Rossi during morning/evening hours is almost impossible. There is a concern for student safety here. Accidents have occurred.

It's very common to bike west on Las Tables to Winery road then west on Vineyard. But that section of vineyard; the 1/2 mile before the new round about is both difficult and dangerous; without even a full bike lane, or at least a 18" wider curb. The hill that crest at the intersection on Winery and Vineyard helps adds to the danger.
The idea would be a full bike lane on Vineyard from 101 west through the roundabout all the way to Willow Creek. Most riders are now riding Willow Creek to Peach

The corridor from approximately VES to Highway 46 is a crossing for deer (especially at dusk) and many have been hit resulting in the death of the deer and damage to the vehicle.

The section of the highway from approximately VES to Highway 46 has some very narrow shoulders for bicyclists and is a safety hazard for both bicyclists and pedestrians.

I was the Templeton Fire Chief when the Trader Joe's complex we proposed. I expressed my concern to PW about the safety of the left turn and was told a connecting road from Rossi to Bennett would be constructed and a signal light installed at Bennett and Vineyard. That was over 15 years ago. The same issue holds true to the Bennett and Vineyard interchange. Making a left turn onto eastbound Vineyard during peak hours is dangerous and 20 more housing units on being proposed off Bennett

Fixing the Hwy 46 west - 101 intersection, making it fast and easy to use, would drastically reduce the traffic on Vineyard. Lots of folks from the coast heading to Atascadero and visa versa use it as their main route. And they should. 46 at 101 is horrible. Another stop sign or two and some traffic calming on Vineyard combined with fixing 46/101 would really help the Vineyard situation.

While you can drive over to the Las Tablas Park and Ride, there is no reason why the Bus that takes Las Tablas and stops at the Hospital could not circle through Bethel to Vineyard coming or going. If and only if there are interested riders wanting a Vineyard pickup/drop off.

People don't want to slow to allow vehicles to turn south on Santa Rita and will instead pass the turning vehicle at a high rate of speed.

There is a tree that hinders the ability to see to the left thus vehicles must pull farther out than they should as you end up in the bike lane. The tree/shrubs are on the southwest corner.
