Misplaced my other comment. Heading northbound here you have to be on sidewalk, but approaching state street crosswalk, can't see bikes/pedestrians coming around corner of big red brick building.

Cars travel fast along jefferson, visibility poor, traffic and pedestrians crossing 12th. Need to add 4-way stop.

Biking up 13th is actually pretty good, and the transition off the greenbelt to northbound is also pretty good - even crossing River is one of the best spots, and we don't have enough busses for their presence on 13th to be a big drawback with sharing the road with bikes. Gotta improve something else. 15th, 11th, 8th for the future.

I have tried a few times and haven't figured out the benefit of this pathway. It is wobbly and not particularly helpful or feeling safe.

Easy transition off of greenbelt, but crossing River is terrible. Can't trust drivers will stop with flashing lights. Need to add speed bumps.

  7. April 05 2019

Leaving these bike racks and entering state street sidewalk is difficult for visibility and avoiding pedestrians.

Glad somebody else mentioned how distracted the drivers are going to the Y. Thought I was just too cranky. Many are on their phones and thinking too hard about their parking spots and work and when class starts. Have to work hard to make eye contact and communicate intentions.

Maybe need protected turns for cars so they don't get so agitated about needing to turn while bikes/pedestrians crossing.

Add speed bumps so crossing can predict traffic speed

Here you gotta be on the sidewalk, but blind approach to crosswalk, risk colliding N-bound with W-bound.

At this intersection, Fort Street is almost impossible to cross during high traffic hours. Would a light be installed to allow bikes to cross Fort Street?

  14. November 29 2018

What changes would be made here to create a public access space through the Boise High campus? What would prevent pedestrian/bike accidents between students accessing the west doors of the building, if a bikeway is right there?

  15. November 29 2018

cars going in and out of this parking lot could cause a safety hazard for bikers

  16. November 27 2018

Crossing front and Myrtle is always anxiety provoking with little kids

busy section because of the YMCA, not sure there is room for bike lanes in both directions.

Not sure how to get around Boise High as the straight line route could be widened but is now full of cars, children play set, sheds, and stair railings. Just enough room to put the bike path in between the track and the building except for the many impediments.

13th street already has a bike lane that goes from Heron to River Street. It's unnecessary to add another one a block away, would be a waste on money and resources.

Boise High School Doesn't need to be ripped up for a bikeway that will distract the students from learning. Noisy bikers in spandex could limit the students potential, this day and age students have enough problems.

Parking for residents, bikers park their cars and trucks in and around the Camel's Back area taking away from the residents that live there. The bikers would unload bikes then ride downtown get drunk attempt to ride back to their motorized vehicle, they would be loud and violent. After reloading their bike to car or truck they will drive drunk through the residential neighborhood to get home.

This intersection is really problematic for bicycles.

  23. November 26 2018

Very busy intersection with traffic coming into and out of the Y. I saw a pedestrian get hit at this intersection once. So I wonder how will the County keep bikers safe here - an overpass/underpass for bikers would be best!

  24. November 26 2018

The County should avoid having the bikeway go through Boise High property, for student safety (due to non-student population that will be going through school property).

During morning rush hour, it is difficult for bikers to cross this street in either direction. There is just too much car traffic. We need a light that allows bikers to cross.
