This route goes through the school which is an issue at certain times of day when there are lots of children around.
-
Crosses through narrow path with chainlink fence and terrible flow for bikes -- curb cuts, sharp turns, pedestrians popping out of nowhere.
-
Busy intersection to cross. Occasional high speed drivers.

Busy intersection to cross with poor visibility

Heavy traffic
-
Driver’s coming and going to Crestline routinely speed through all the intersections from 8th to 13th.
-
This intersection is a scary one for bikes. It’s hard to see at down fort Street. And there is nothing to encourage traffic to stop. I would recommend some flashing lights at this intersection
-
This one is mostly okay, but vehicle traffic tends to (a) drive faster and (b) pay less attention to pedestrian and cyclist traffic.
-
Light here, but this is still one of the more tricky intersections for cyclists as well as for pedestrians.
-
Super scary intersection, even if you're just going straight on 11th - from either direction. Traffic is much faster and more voluminous here.
-
Tricky intersection, esp if left turn is needed southbound from 11th.
-
Visibility of cross traffic can be a bit challenging here, particularly heading towards the River looking right. During heavy traffic times and with higher speed traffic on Fort & Hays it can be difficult to get a gap to cross on bike from a stop. Then a car in one direction will occasionally stop causing a back up while cars in the other direction do not. An on demand bike/ped crossing light on Fort and Hays would be terrific.
-
I dont even bother with the bike lane going southbound, too many turning cars on to Front
-
Awkward transition from pathway when trying to go north on 11th
-
It needs a safe passage here. The parked cars make it very difficult to see oncoming traffic.
-
Would the path actually go through the Boise high field and track? Seems like it wouldn't but was just curious.
-
We use 11th st but we don’t cross 20 and 26 here. We usually divert to 8th st because there is a natural route with crossing lites on 20 and 26 already in place and a traffic free ride through the grove and behind the library ending right on the bike path
-
Room for bike lane on the whole southern section. Huge street
-
Ped crossing light takes too long, encouraging unsafe crossing. Drivers are running the red light. Peds are not immediately visible due to vegetation, and for northbound riders, there is a conflict with left turning drivers/visibility. Change the timing on this one to on demand and it would be a gem.
-
Too many overhanging branches.

Just like I can't fix the map, this route through BHS, whether walking or on bike, is dangerous. The extra storage unit took away visibility, the sidewalk is broken and has a curb at the northern edge at Franklin that is bordered by a fence and parked cars. NO ADA COMPLIANCE AT ALL. There is no marked crosswalk on this very well used area. Cars are allowed to park too close to all legs of the T intersection on Franklin, which compromises all users safety.
-
curb gutter interface is in terrible condition, holds standing water and rotting leaves.
SPECIAL NOTE: this should be a no idle zone for BHS students. in the morning the students are on their phones with the motor running until it's time to go to school. An air quality measurement should be done here.

Would be helpful to all: Ped/bike/skateboard,scooters, if sight distance was improved at all corners. Cars are parked too close to corner and block the view. The angle of arrival has a distinct effect on this. I ride this every single day and have the same issues. I have to get out into the street as a ped, and I change the crossing time of day on my bike to avoid heavy traffic.

For northbound cyclists coming off the Pioneer path, who want to either continue north on 11th, or use the pathway through JUMP, a two phase crossing is required. It's not obvious to the casual rider, going north. The bike lane is narrow in front of Simplot on 11th.
