There have been several times when I am crossing Myrtle from south to north on the east side of 11th, and a southbound car on 11th, turning left onto Myrtle has almost hit me. I am walking and I wear bright colors. I think the issue is that they just aren't looking for bicycles or pedestrians.

In the mornings, northbound cars on 11th who are turning right onto Bannock often do not stop to look for pedestrians or bicycles. I have almost been hit several times, even though I wait for the walk signal. It appears to me that the cars are too preoccopied with looking for eastbound ars on Bannock to bother with bicycles or pedestrians. Yes, it's dark at 7:30am, but I'm wearing a white coat, I think I'm sufficiently visible.

There is a HAWK light at River Street where the Pioneer path crosses. This particular HAWK signal takes a very long time to activate the red lights. Often I press the button, and a minute later there's a break in the traffic and I cross. Maybe a minute later, the lights flash, and cars have to stop, even though I'm long thru the intersection. The light needs to be more responsive.

The southbound bicycle lane between Myrtle and Front is very often closed for a large variety or reasons or have cars/trucks parked in the bicycle lane. Recently, it was closed for large parts of 2 weeks because there was free parking for the Lion King, and a shuttle was stopping here. BSU football shuttles also result in the bicycle lane disappearing.

It is difficult at this time to safely cross Fort and State Street on a bike. North of Fort, there are often people who run the stop signs, or stop and go quickly without noticing bikes are coming.

  6. November 13 2018

There is currently no clear unbroken path for bikes on 11th between Fort and Washington because Boise High is there. The block between Washington and State Streets is treacherous for bikes between traffic at the YMCA, Boise High students, pedestrians, and bikes.

  7. November 13 2018

Need enhanced crossings (probably RRFB) at Hays and Fort

  8. November 13 2018

Need a clear path (eliminate blind corners, smooth transitions to Washington and Franklin) through Boise High along 11th

  9. November 13 2018

Designated paths here would be great. Too much traffic turning on and off Myrtle and Front.

  10. November 13 2018

A better path between the school and the track would be awesome. There some blind turns which can be dangerous. A designated smooth path here would be great.

  11. November 13 2018

Need a pedestrian activated and signal phase just for pedestrians in all directions.

  12. November 13 2018

i typically ride the sidewalk here due to heavy traffic on this block. is a separated bike track being considered for the busier blocks?

  13. November 13 2018

Is it ok to ride through here when school is in session? I usually end up going around on 9th or 13th, neither of which are very pleasant for cycling.

  14. November 13 2018

There is congestion through Boise High but please work with them to make Bikeway happen

  15. November 13 2018

11& Myrtle: Need to set back crosswalk to ensure better connection between 11th street crossing to Pioneer Path.

  16. November 13 2018

11th & Myrtle: need to consider signal settings to promote pedestrian and cyclist safety for crossing and perhaps eliminate right turn on red for autos.

  20. November 13 2018

This is the most dangerous intersection on my daily bike commute to the central bench. Traffic is not looking for bikes and they are in a hurry to beat the rush of traffic on Front St.

  21. November 13 2018

11th street is a strange place to put this...can you consider a bike lane on 13th instead and removing some of the parking?

  22. November 13 2018

    Tons of stoplights!

  23. November 13 2018

there is a natural bike route across river, thru Ann Morrison, thru south Lisk district, between Elmer’s and defunct cheerleaders bar, now you just need to get a real bike route up the west side of Capitol blvd. And connect to Shoshone. The sidewalk doesn’t count.

  24. November 13 2018

New tree orchard at vacant lot make visual for traffic difficult. Replant trees so that ppl can see fort street traffic.

  25. November 13 2018

Perfect route through bus, but it is tight. Get rid of chain link fence and create more space for through traffic so it does not interfere with ppl as they come down the stairs. Storage buildings near track and field block visual. BHS parking lot should be rearranged for thru traffic, they would lose 3 spaces tops.
