Cars travel too fast through Santa Margarita making biking and walking feel very unsafe. A road diet might help create safer conditions for peds and bikes.

The cars on this road are driving super fast and it makes me not want to walk, bike or even drive on this street.

Big trucks and buses pass at high speeds close to bike lane, creating air pressure and scary biking experience. The bike lane also slopes down into the gutter and is unevenly paved.

Having a dedicated, protected 2-way Bike Road adjacent to LOVR would be ideal. No need for dedicated East/West lanes on opposite sides of the road. Consolidate into one.

This is the only beach we can use to enjoy out off-road vehicles and it should stay that way!!

This point is in the direct flightpath of planes taking off from Oceano Airport. Have a sign that says LOOK UP and see the planes.

Need a turn lane or third lane for turns only. Hard on weekend days to make turn on to Rodman due to so much traffic going up and down LOVR to Montana de Oro. Sometimes a non-stop stream of 15 cars, Need to slow traffic flow - but not STOP it. A signal or a signal/pedestrian crossing will stop traffic so much it will back up and be worse. Speed humps to slow traffic so a car has a chance to make a turn.

Dangerous to cross LOVR here - curve with limited visibility and many drivers speeding to get to Montana de Oro. People don't understand this is a residential area, not a highway to the park. Weekend traffic is bad. This is a frequent crossing area for pedestrians and dog walkers who hike up Rodman. Merely installing a cross walk will accomplish little. You must slow down the traffic flow. I recommend speed humps (not speed bumps which damage cars) placed before crosswalk.

There are frequent "almost accidents" when cars driving 40+ mph have to slam on the brakes when a car in front stops to turn left or right. Streets are not easy to see, so people unfamiliar with the area stop at the last minute to turn. Since there is only one lane in each direction, it stops all traffic flow. A middle "turn only" lane is needed for cars turning to get out of the traffic lane. This is a problem from Palisades to Rodman.

Traffic light timing at Foothill and LOVR needs to be reset. Currently when there are any cars waiting on Foothill to turn left on to LOVR, they trigger a signal change. It is a long signal. It often takes 3 signal changes to be able to make left turn from LOVR to Foothill. Way too long and traffic backs up.

My family and I often walk up to Cabrillo Estatesto take in the beautiful views, but the space between the water towers and the entrance to C.E. is a pedestrian DANGER ZONE. Cars often ignore the downhill speedlight, and cars don't often make full stops coming out of Cabrillo estates. A pedestrian crosswalk would be a massive improvement in safety.

Car absolutely FLY through this crosswalk, often times while my kids and I are still crossing. A pedestrian signal would make marked difference w regard to visibility. We teach our kids that they DO NOT have the right of way leaving our neighborhood... despite the law stating otherwise.

We don't need more lanes for cars. There is no better way to turn Los Osos into a big city than to add more lanes to the road, and that would also add complexity for non-car traffic to navigate. We need to keep the road small and give people alternate ways to travel, such as sidewalks and multi-use paths or dedicated bike lanes that cars can't park in. This is a neighborhood, not a freeway.

Sidewalks would relieve some vehicle traffic and lessen the need to widen the road. Sidewalks or a pedestrian path should be a priority so people and kids (or their parents) aren't forced to drive.

We should find a way to have a shuttle to MDO park from Los Osos. If we had less cars on the road, all of the safety concerns here would be fewer, and parking would not be as much of an issue either. Roads would need to be maintained less and we'd pay less for that, maybe we can use the savings to fund a shuttle. Bus drivers will drive slower and stop for pedestrians as well. Plus, it will make the park more accessible and safe for everyone.

We need room for bikes on this road to access the park. Locals can't get to trails safely without driving their bikes in using a car, which also limits who can bike on the trails (those with cars that can carry bikes). I refuse to bike on this road.

As one of the most beautiful parks in our county, it's very unfortunate that it's only accessible to those driving a car. Parking would be less of an issue too if this were accessible via transit or if there were walking/biking paths along the main roadway. I'm terrified to bike on this road but I don't want to be required to drive here either. We need to make this road safer for bikes and/or bring transit here.

If there were a separate bike only pathway I would feel much more inclined to ride into work everyday rather than take the risk down the shoulder of LOVR in its current state: cracks, covered in debris, and cars flying by well over the 55MPH just feet from me. It would encourage the already large cycling community that their presence is wanted, and allow those who would save the gas, to commute into work.
