Frequently Los Osos bound vehicles will use the right turn lane before the Foothill intersection to bypass the signal. Without stopping vehicles will take the right turn lane on to Foothill, jump straight across Foothill and then re-enter LOVR via the Foothill to LOVR merge lane.

Mountain bikers come off of Islay Creek Road on to LOVR to get to the trail head parking lot.. It is a narrow road on a hill with a blind curve. There needs to be a shoulder or trail for bikers, equestrians and hikers to get to the trail head parking lot.

I strongly suggest a dedicated bike path physically separated from traffic by either grass or a fence. This will allow families to safely take their children on the bike path. It has the potential to increase bike commuter use and allow county residents as well as tourists to engage in a healthful outdoor activity.

Why is there no RTA service down LOVR? It makes taking the bus from SLO to Los Osos (via Morro Bay) take too long to be useful.

Please provide a marked crosswalk across the road at Rodman to protect pedestrians

Please provide protected bike lanes so it is safer for cyclists and will encourage more bikes to use this road.

If nothing else, a left-turn pocket in this stretch would be extremely helpful. Folks stopping in-lane to left turn is hazardous for traffic as well as cyclists (when cars use the bike lane to go around the stopped traffic).

I agree with the comments that more needs to be done to make LOVR more pedestrian (and bike) friendly from Doris to South Bay (lower speeds, better crosswalks, protected bike lanes, bike racks, etc.).
I do not like the signalized crossings for pedestrians with the flashing yellow and red lights in SLO, however. What does it mean, "flashing red, proceed with caution?" Am I required to stop? Will others stop? The rules of these things are indecipherable.

Requesting safety crossing with flashing lights for pedestrians, equestrians etc on Pecho Road around Rodman area. It has become extremely dangerous for horses to cross due to excessive speed and/or inattention.

Reduce speed on curves and provide flashing lights and Safety crossing on Pecho Road at Rodman or nearby so that equestrians/horses can safely cross over to access established trails to and within MDO. It has become extremely hazardous to do so.

There is not a safe sidewalk on the south side of LOVR/Pecho along the entire corridor from 9th st. all the way through to Rodman and there really should be.

There is really no safe sidewalk option on the south side of LOVR between 9th and Palisades.

It doesn?t look like my prior comment was captured.
LOVR is the primary emergency evacuation route for Los Osos. Whatever new multimodal design is considered to separate vehicles from bikes and pedestrians must be flexible to convert to efficient evacuation?primarily by vehicles.Liked 0 times -
This needs to be a roundabout. Its the most obvious roundabout in the area. I live on Oconnor way and I travel this multiple times a day. The lights cause congestion, traffic, extra greenhouse gas, air pollution. Adding a protected class III bike lane for bikers would be great too. Bring the lights down. The Level of Service on these lights must be terrible too.

There are no public electric vehicle chargers in Los Osos. Serious limitation.

There must be an equestrian-pedestrian crossing here. Many equestrians cross here from the two riding stables on Sea Horse Lane located off of Doris nearby. This is the only way to get to the State Beach and you ride through Rodman to get through. Traffic does not stop. An equine crossing avoids ADA requirements and is cheaper to implement than a pedestrian crossing and accomplishes both needs. PEGASUS Crossing. I have several yrs transportation planning experience

Consider the need for secure bike parking along LOVR in the commercial area. SLO County states support to increase multimodal alternatives to shed some current use of vehicles. To do so, need safe route and secure parking for bikes in this area. Electric bikes provides the potential to be practical and increase this need for people to be willing to shift current practice

This is a general statement from LOVR @Pecho Rd south?.. the State Plan for the Ca Coastal Trail , connects back onto LOVR @ Pecho Rd to MDO. Last I heard is from MdO it traverses all the way to SLO on LOVR.
The Corridor Study needs to incorporate this State endorsed route that will add incremental traffic.Liked 0 times -
Horseback riders from Sea Horse Ln now have to cross Pecho/LOVR, at the curve in the road at Rodman & Pecho, where traffic often speeds at about 50mph. Last Tuesday, a car coming around that curve actually had to slam on it's brakes to stop in time to not hit me & my horse.
We need the installation of a blinking cross walk there, AND blinking-caution signs on either side of that curve that blink when someone hits the crosswalk button.
There are MANY dog-walkers/cyclists/riders who cross there!Liked 0 times -
A crossing light or other way to warn drivers that a pedestrian, cyclist, or equestrian is crossing Pecho at Rodman needs to be installed. Cars go way to fast and there is a blind curve here for drivers. Very dangerous and scary to cross but equestrians have lost other trails and are using this crossing more. There have been injuries here from unsafe crossing.

We need this to be four lanes.

I sure hope we can avoid the disastrous and unsafe bike lane approach that has been implemented in SLO (bikes between parked cars and sidewalks? cross-crossing and dotted lines everywhere? yikes!) and those pedestrian crossing lights (where a flashing red light means ?proceed (if clear)?? Confusing!)

I understand people?s concern about speed and narrow roads in this segment (Rodman into MDO). Sure, some safety improvements are possible without making the road into/through MDO like an expressway. I?m hoping we can preserve the natural beauty and smallness.

Can we please build a sign for Montana de Oro that is in a better spot so that cars don't crash into it when they speed around this corner and fly off the road. Really the fact that this sign has been hit so many times should inform us that we need to do better about reducing the insane speeds people take these roads with.

Crossing from the parking lot to the trailhead can be scary. Vehicles are often traveling too fast and the corners surrounding this trailhead are both blind. I believe there have been significant collisions at this spot in the past few years.
