Some bicyclists come down from Montana de Oro at high rates of speed. They can be very difficult to see crouched down in dark clothing. Older drivers are cautions when turning onto Pecho Valley Road from Rodman and may not be out of the way when pulling out. The only viable solution is a bicyclist/pedestrian path separated from Pecho Valley Road for several hundred feet in each direction in conjunction with a carefully coordinated and marked cross walk for people and horses at Rodman Drive.

Sync up the lights! Turning left from 9th to LOVR eastbound always gives you about 2 seconds before the light turns red at 10th Street. Dangerous as drivers will gun it to try & make the light at 10th without making a part-time career of waiting for lights in Osos.

Red light westbound LOVR is on way too long. Traffic should flow more freely into town.

Adding more car lanes would be expensive and, moreover, ineffective due to the effect of induced demand

Instead of a bike lane right up alongside the road, would it be possible to have a few yards of separation? Physical distance from the main road makes me feel more comfortable biking with kids. Also, the force of the wind when cars speed by would be less of a problem too.

A protected bike lane would be better for local businesses and farms along LOVR as well. Who is more likely to pull over and stop for a sip of cider or basket of strawberries they see as they pass by -- a cyclist, or a driver going 60?

The bike lane is pretty narrow along this stretch, and has lots of loose rocks, several potholes, and other road debris like glass and metal. Repaving rough sections of the bike line and widening it is necessary. The installation of a concrete barrier separating the bike path would help this issue, as the road debris wouldn't get into the lane as easily and bike tires are less rough on the road than car tires. In the long term, it would require less maintenance and be safer for everyone

This is a fantastic opportunity to create a safe pedestrian path between Monarch Grove Elementary with the Library that is not a traditional sidewalk, perhaps a dg surface that can be used by bikes and peds

The in street blinking pedestrian light here is a dangerous way to cross. Most drivers do not feel obligated to stop, so typically only do so once the pedestrian makes a leap of faith. please provide a full stop light either here or at Fairchild (preferably not the ?proceed on flashing red? being trialed in SLO)

Lack of sidewalk continuity on this one property frontage requires pedestrians and bikes to step into the street. We need a continuous sidewalk in the commercial stretch

The lack of retaining wall and maintenance along this edge of the school property has effectively eliminated the sidewalk requiring pedestrians and bikes to walk in the street.

the light at the intersection of LOVR and Palisades has become ridiculous. you are constantly needing to stop for long durations of time when going straight through the light, whether there are cars coming from Palisades or not.

decent sidewalk needed here

this area really needs a sidewalk. i know this would impact a couple of houses, but if there were some way to have a turn lane and sidewalk added from downtown through to Monarch Grove school on one side of the road, it would be much safer.

please install more "no left turn allowed" during school hours signs. people fly up Doris while the kids are coming to and from school and i have seen numerous bikers and walkers almost get hit on Doris or in the intersection. please have a no left allowed from LOVR onto Doris and one from Doris onto LOVR during school hours.

This area of LOVR has a high incidence of animal strikes---mainly deer. Wildlife warning signs need to be installed.

Biking LOVR is already extremely popular and should be supported. Better lanes with protection & marking are essential. More people would bike this beautiful stretch if it weren't so scary to ride with cars whizzing past at 65.

For optimal safety for drivers, bikers & pedestrians, the stretch of LOVR between Bay & the Oak Preserve should all be 35MP, and then bump up to 45 & 55. And it should be consistent in both directions.
It's difficult for folks in the mobile home parks and visitors to the oak preserve to safely make left turns across the road. Traffic should be slowed to 45 at the cemetery. And enforced.Liked 0 times -
There should be a pedestrian path/shoulder past Rodman on Pecho.
More pedestrians would cross in a safer manner (with better visibility from folks traveling west) if we could cross on the west side, but there's no shoulder there and high weeds. We need 4-6 feet over there, and can then travel down on that side to the trail to Monarch Grove. A delineated/painted crosswalk where folks would consistently cross in the same place would help drivers (as I've seen folks cross in a lot of spots).
