need traffic slowing here

separated bike path on north side would eliminate crossing conflicts across LOVR

There was a death in the community due to this intersection and seasonal event - at least the landowner should be required to install temporary traffic control during events and pay for their impacts due to the commercial nature of this farm https://www.kcbx.org/community/2014-10-30/bicycle-community-saddened-by-fatal-crash-on-los-osos-valley-road

There was a death in the community because of this intersection and someone attending a seasonal event on their bike (https://www.kcbx.org/community/2014-10-30/bicycle-community-saddened-by-fatal-crash-on-los-osos-valley-road)

With E bikes it is easier than ever to commute and run errands or visit neighboring communities (with kids in tow) - this is done in many places all over the world - we are way behind here and a fully separated bikeway is the best solution to help the community - it would also be an incredible resource!

never had rush hour gridlock on this road in my 15+ years commuting along here - the road is overkill already for the traffic

4 lanes is unnecessary with the amount of traffic on this road - if anything the passing lanes make it worse because people feel the need to race to pass when it is really not needed - there is not much traffic on this road to justify a four lane highway and would be out of character for the rural area. It would be dangerous, increase speeds, and change the road classification to that of a freeway

Bike path on the north side of the road would solve intersection conflicts - use tunnels to go under roadway and connect path to laguna and downtown

Separate Bike path would be ideal - including a fantastic recreational amenity for the community! Good examples are the miles of rural bike paths in an area I currently work outside the town of Jackson WY where you can go from the Town to the Park via bike path - there are paths everywhere in this rural community and is a good model.

The vast majority of vehicles ignore this crosswalk as the coming speeding down the hill. This crosswalk really needs sensors and flashing likes especially given the proximity to Monarch Grove Elementary and the number of school children that cross here.

At Christmas and Halloween this is a MAJOR safety concern. The volume of westbound traffic turning left here can be staggering at times. In addition, east bound traffic is in a passing lane scenario with drivers aggressively trying to pass slower vehicles at high speeds. West bound cars often pass stopped cars that are waiting to turn left by illegally using the bike lane. During certain times of year this is not a safe place for cars not to mention cyclists. Dedicate turn pocket is a must.

Westbound: Normal traffic suns slow through the entire stretch to Los Osos, usually when one vehicle maintains 40-45 mph. It should be remembered that traffic can not move faster than the slowest vehicle. I have never seen CHP enforcement of CVC 22400 for impeding traffic. Another traffic planning principle is that slow traffic reduces system capacity; if people are moving near or at the limit, rush hour gridlock is reduced.

The area between Foothill and the Laguna area is a notorious bottle-neck afternoon through evening. It needs to be 4 lane, and a round-a-bout to replace the signaled intersection.

Paint "Max Speed Limit 55 mph" every couple of miles in both directions. Many people have no idea what the actual speed limit is on LOVR.

I think you should extend the turning lane from Clark valley road all the way down to Turri road .. you would prevent a ton of accidents from people turning and exiting their driveways

Why is the worst area between Laguna Lake and Valle Vista neglected? That is where all the traffic backs up. The traffic needs to be slowed at Valle Vista and Temple Beth Israel with a light, and that entire section of road needs to be widened.

Cyclists cutting in front of drivers. Sometimes in large groups. One time I had to lock up the brakes to keep from striking group. Honked to warn them but they ignored me. By a miracle I did not strike the bike riders. Cyclists must obey traffic laws. They rarely do and threaten motorists when they cut them off. Shameful!!

A roundabout similar to 154 and Santa Ynez, with seperate dedicated lane for right turns. OR barriers between the merge lane from Foothill west onto LOVR and a longer right turn lane onto Foothill from westbound LOVR.

Intersection: LOVR & 9th St/Bay View Heights
A left turn Signal is needed for east Bound LOVR traffic turning left onto 9th St. Because of the high flow of west bound traffic on LOVR: east bound traffic needing to make a left turn without a turn signal, often must sit in the middle of the intersection until the light turns yellow and sometimes red before being able to make their turn. This is unsafe and only allows one or two cars per light cycle to make the turn.Liked 0 times -
Consider adding short center wall with two lanes in both directions between Turi Rd. and Foothill with breaks for turn lanes like Hwy 1 between MB and SLO. Eliminate head on collisions. Also a separate bike/pedestrian path would be ideal-

Prominent crosswalk lighting for evening crossings at Sunset Dr and Fairchild Way. It can be notable dark at these crosswalks especially on moonless nights during the winter months.

The section of LOV from Lariat Dr to South Bay Blvd goes quickly from 55 mph to 45 mph to 35 mph only to again reduce to 25 mph after crossing South Bay Blvd. The result is that few drivers obey the posted speed limits coming into or leaving Los Osos on LOVR. As a result there is an increased risk for the pedestrians that cross using the crosswalks at Fairchild Way and Sunset Dr.

A bike lane the entire distance is a expensive investment for a limited number of people to benefit. People are not going to bike all the way from foothill to Los osos with children. Funding should be prioritized to streamline and make safe car travel because far more people travel by car through this area then bikes do or will. I feel like a bike lane within los osos itself on the los osos valley road would be a good investment for locals and probably well used by adults and children alike.

1. On numerous occasions I've engaged the pedestrian crossing function on LOV at both Sunset Dr. & Fairchild Way only to have cars race through and ignore that I am crossing when I am in the crosswalk. Both crossing need a more prominent visual (flashing) alerts for drivers to know when pedestrians are crossing. 2. the "in-street" lights appear to be solar powered; during the winter months the lights barely appear, if at all. Is it going to take a fatality in order resolve these conditions?

I would like to see a turning lane put in all the way to jacaranda road..
It is very difficult and dangerousto turn into your driveway and exit your driveway along that stretch of road..
I have seen multiple accidents and deaths along this stretch of road throughout the years I think it would benefit the county greatly to provide that buffer zone so people can enter and exit their properties without fear of being struck by another carLiked 0 times
