Since so much of our traffic on LOVR is from non-residents traveling to the golf course or MDO, it's hard for them to observe the school zone speed limit.
There needs to be signage that helps folks know WHEN schools are in session and what hours those zones are in effect. The only clue nearby for Monarch is the no turn hours. I really don't know, and I live here. How is someone else supposed to know "when children are present" when you approach the school on a blind hill?Liked 0 times -
The speed limit changes along LOVR make little sense to drivers, and the 25MPH portion that goes between Palisades & Sunset is not well observed and there are few clues, because it's two lanes each way at that point (which in many municipalities is an indicator of 35). It's not just the signs, but there needs to be road furniture or painting on the road surface to clue people in.

With only one bus serving Los Osos, it's ridiculous to try to use it to get to San Luis Obispo. Why isn't there a bus that goes down LOVR to help people (especially those from the lower income areas of Los Osos) get to the big box shopping areas in SLO along LOVR.

Tons of potholes on strand way, unsafe for cars and walking my baby in his stroller

The radar speed sign here has been broken for at least a year. It shows only the first digit, and dimly at that.
The placement is strange, as this is the change in speed and just coming off of a traffic light, and would be better placed as you approach the Monarch Grove Elementary School.Liked 0 times -
I like to hike the trail around the lagoon, but I don't feel comfortable about the vehicle traffic while I am walking across the bridge over the lagoon to complete my hike.

It is great to have the option for a left turn out of Ralph's, but there should be a merge lane as the eastbound traffic can be hard to see, especially on sunny afternoons.

A pedestrian / bicycle trail from 4th and Ramona to the Library and Community Center would really improve access for the Baywood Community and encourage people to walk or cycle when visiting those areas.

The intersection of Pine and LOV Rd either needs a traffic circle (first preference) or a light (2nd preference).

The light cycle for this intersection needs some serious work. In the afternoon, traffic coming from SLO westbound backs up to the City limits because the left turn signal for Eastbound traffic comes alive both before and after through traffic is stopped for the westbound traffic. This only allows about 15 westbound vehiclest hrough the intersection per cycle and often westbound is stopped and backed up while eastbound lanes are completely clear. There needs to be a modification for the afternoo

Like others mentioned this crossing is not safe. Some of the flashing lights embedded in the street are broken or very dim, The larger Lights on the pole are also not noticeable especially in the evening hours when the sun is setting. People come flying through here 40-50mph, ENFORCE the speed limit and fix and upgrade the signals before someone gets hurt or killed!

NOBODY, absolutely NOBODY slows down to 25mph as signaled here. Where is the enforcement or at least electronic over-speed warning signs to remind drivers?

This traffic light is a nightmare for pedestrians, programmed for just one thing, motorized vehicles. It takes forever to turn green even if there are Zero cars around. Come on this is 2023 where is the technology to regulate this efficiently also give preference to pedestrians when they push the button, this will help to slow traffic. Also to give green lights to pedestrians and left turning cars from 10th street is very risky, i got very close encounters with cars at least two times here.

People coming from 9th street making a left turn onto LOVR go full throttle to make it through the green light of the next traffic light at 10th street. If we have a 25mph speed limit why is it NEVER ever enforced? Even USPS is going 45mph regularly on this section of LOVR, its mad and very unsafe for pedestrians and bikes. Where are the police or at least electronic speed warning signs that are placed all over the rest of the county telling drivers that they are going to fast?

Perfect place for ev chargers on this park and ride area. Talk to APCD/NEVI. Big gap in ev chargers here.

A center lane for safely turn off LOVR without risking a crash

I frequently bike, walk and drive LOVR, The section between Doris and Palisade does NOT have a reasonable or safe biking or walking path. I often witness seniors and disabled trying to get to the store and using the shoulder of the road as traffic races by. A lower speed limit would be a good start. A separated walking and biking path would be a wise way to go.

The bike lane on LOVR eastbound is very dangerous. Cars park in the bike lane, people place their trash bins in the bike lane. Between parked cars, trash containers and bikes and folks walking or jogging it's a really risky ride.

Monarch Lane feeds into LOVR - like LOVR it has a LOT of young kids walking, biking, boarding to school and a LOT of folks walking... Many of the cars drive way too fast. IT might be wise to lower the speed limit or add speed bumps to Monarch Lane.

Bike lanes on east bound side of LOVR are inadequate. Multi-family residences park cars on street in the bike lane in this area which eliminates the designated bike lane. Residents also put trash cans in the existing bike lanes and those cans typically stay there for several days which also eliminates the bike lane.

Speed limit signs on Monarch Lane currently indicate 30 mph, but this is too fast for this neighborhood street with many small children. Please consider lowering this speed limit to 25 mph or slower.

The excessive speeding--combined with the lack of enforcement --on Monarch Lane is untenable.
It requires a permanent solution to secure the safety of residents, our children (especially en route to and from school), and the wide variety of pedestrians in our neighborhood. As a resident who lives at an intersection with Monarch, I can confirm that both the severity of the issue and a public/neighborhood concern to address it exists.
I look forward to County measures to keep us safe.Liked 0 times -
Given the two other comments on wait times for turning at the intersection of 9th and LOVR and the other comments along LOVR requesting limits on driving speeds, it might make sense to implement a roundabout. A roundabout installed at South Bay Blvd and here would serve to slow drivers down at both ends of the roadway while maintaining a more consistent flow of traffic.

Is a separate bike path an option along LOVR? Not road-sharing with cars but parallel?
