Perfect place for ev chargers on this park and ride area. Talk to APCD/NEVI. Big gap in ev chargers here.

A center lane for safely turn off LOVR without risking a crash

I frequently bike, walk and drive LOVR, The section between Doris and Palisade does NOT have a reasonable or safe biking or walking path. I often witness seniors and disabled trying to get to the store and using the shoulder of the road as traffic races by. A lower speed limit would be a good start. A separated walking and biking path would be a wise way to go.

The bike lane on LOVR eastbound is very dangerous. Cars park in the bike lane, people place their trash bins in the bike lane. Between parked cars, trash containers and bikes and folks walking or jogging it's a really risky ride.

Monarch Lane feeds into LOVR - like LOVR it has a LOT of young kids walking, biking, boarding to school and a LOT of folks walking... Many of the cars drive way too fast. IT might be wise to lower the speed limit or add speed bumps to Monarch Lane.

Bike lanes on east bound side of LOVR are inadequate. Multi-family residences park cars on street in the bike lane in this area which eliminates the designated bike lane. Residents also put trash cans in the existing bike lanes and those cans typically stay there for several days which also eliminates the bike lane.

Speed limit signs on Monarch Lane currently indicate 30 mph, but this is too fast for this neighborhood street with many small children. Please consider lowering this speed limit to 25 mph or slower.

The excessive speeding--combined with the lack of enforcement --on Monarch Lane is untenable.
It requires a permanent solution to secure the safety of residents, our children (especially en route to and from school), and the wide variety of pedestrians in our neighborhood. As a resident who lives at an intersection with Monarch, I can confirm that both the severity of the issue and a public/neighborhood concern to address it exists.
I look forward to County measures to keep us safe.Liked 0 times -
Given the two other comments on wait times for turning at the intersection of 9th and LOVR and the other comments along LOVR requesting limits on driving speeds, it might make sense to implement a roundabout. A roundabout installed at South Bay Blvd and here would serve to slow drivers down at both ends of the roadway while maintaining a more consistent flow of traffic.

Is a separate bike path an option along LOVR? Not road-sharing with cars but parallel?

PLEASE add a bus route along LOVR to SLO.

The stop light into town seems to go to red automatically, regardless of other traffic. In the middle of the night the light will still turn red and stay red for far too long.

Driving this road has been turned into.a nightmare due to attempt at incorporating exercise along with car travel. Why? As if there aren't enough places to do those things elsewhere?

Widen the bike lane here.

Make a designated pedestrian only path along the open space to increase safety.

Please put a combined bike/pedestrian path with separate lanes for each downhill from the road.

Please make separate bike/pedestrian lanes on a hard surface path downhill from road.

We need public transportation to zip down LOVR all the way to Higuera. We can transfer to city buses or walk to businesses from there.

Pine would be more manageable if people could drive from Baywood to LOVR and the Community center/Library on Palisades. Please complete that road.

Traffic on LOVR at Palisades and at Pine would be relieved greatly if Palisades could be a through street connecting to Baywood. I know this is slightly off topic, but it is relevant. At minimum a bike/pedestrian way to the Library and community center.

The light cycle at 9th and LOVR needs to adapt better to traffic. At high-volume times on LOVR, it makes sense to favor that pathway. But turning left from 9th onto LOVR takes forever the rest of the day, because it's seemingly (2 minutes LOVR) followed by (10-15 sec 9th St) over and over.
Related, even if you make the left-hand turn from 9th onto eastbound LOVR, you'll never make it through the light at LOVR and 10th!

Abundant wildlife crosses at this area. To enhance roadway safety and reduce the amount of animal strikes I recommend the construction of a wildlife crossing under the highway at this area.

The best option for LOVR would be a light transit the entire route. Nothing grandiose is needed, nor too big. Simple cars and small would suffice. If attractive cars were created, along the likes of the San Francisco cable cars, people would come from far and wide to enjoy the little trip out to the sea and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Valley. A modern system could probably be entirely automated.

THIS TRAFFIC ISSUE WILL NOT BE FIXED UNLESS THE STATE FIXES THEIR MESS ON HWY1, AND 101 RAMPS IN SLO. IF UR GOING TO MB AND POINTS NORTH U TAKE LOVR, NO MATTER IF UR GOING NB OR SB 101, OR IN SLO.
